Who this helps: students choosing a real estate course and a state or territory pathway.

Educational information, not individual licensing advice. No licence, job or income guarantee. Directory operator identity remains pending; no real provider is verified.

Start with the qualification

CPP41419 is the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice. The national register lists it as current, with release 3 the current release. It requires 18 units: five core and 13 electives. The core covers professional practice, ethics, legislation, marketing and communication, and preparation for working with trust accounts.

Sources: AU1

Electives can cover residential sales, property management, commercial property, auctioneering and business broking. The packaging rules require all units from two elective groups, with remaining electives selected from permitted options.

The qualification itself has no entry requirements. Provider admission rules and occupational licensing requirements are separate. A nationally recognised course is not a licence or job guarantee.

First write down where you want to work and which duties you want to perform: selling, managing rentals, auctions or eventually running an agency. Use the relevant state or territory edition to check the local role and next step. Confirm the regulator’s rules when you enrol and again when you apply.

Check the RTO and the actual offer

Get the provider’s legal name and RTO number. An RTO is a registered training organisation. Search the National Training Register for its current registration status, CPP41419 scope and any conditions or restrictions. Scope is the training it is approved to deliver.

Sources: AU2, AU3

Scope does not establish that a provider is currently accepting enrolments in your location or delivery method. Request a dated offer directly. If a sales brand differs from the RTO name, ask how they are connected.

Keep the written answer. Compare like-for-like offers, not just course names. No live provider offer or current course price has been verified for this guide.

Read the Australia edition with Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory or Northern Territory, according to where you intend to work.

Admission, USI and prior learning

Separate three checks: the national qualification’s entry rules, the provider’s admission rules and the regulator’s work-entry rules. Ask about age, English, reading, writing, numeracy, computer skills and any pre-enrolment skills check. Ask what support follows the check.

Sources: AU1, AU8

Request the equipment list before paying. You may need a laptop, reliable internet or particular software; do not assume the advertised price includes them.

For nationally recognised training, providers generally need a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) before issuing a qualification or statement of attainment, unless an exemption applies. Check the official rules and recover your existing USI rather than creating a duplicate.

Credit transfer uses evidence of completed study. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) assesses existing skills against course requirements. Neither should be sold as certification without proper checks. Ask what evidence, cost and remaining study apply.

Assessment, workload and support

Assessment checks that you can apply required knowledge and skills. Practical application and evidence that is your own matter. Suggested tasks below are questions to ask, not a promise about every course.

Sources: AU6

Online does not automatically mean alone, self-paced or available at any time. Online learning may include face-to-face workplace assessment. Confirm actual attendance and practical requirements in writing.

Sources: AU7

An advertised completion time and a course-access deadline answer different questions. Ask for expected weekly study hours, scheduled sessions, suggested pace, final submission date, extension costs and maximum access. Ask what happens during illness, holidays or a study break.

Allow time for feedback and resubmission. Ask when trainers are available and how long replies usually take. Discuss language, literacy, numeracy, disability or technology support early, and get agreed support recorded.

The full cost, funding and refunds

Request one written total for your exact offer. No provider price is quoted here. Check tuition, learning materials, assessment, enrolment charges, repeat attempts, RPL or credit-transfer processing, extensions, replacement documents, software, equipment and travel. Budget separately for regulator application fees and work-entry costs.

For instalments, check the deposit, dates, total payable and added charges. Ask whether withdrawing ends future payments; do not assume it does. For funding, verify the named program, your eligibility, the provider’s participation and the exact course before relying on a discount.

CPP41419 is a Certificate IV. The federal VET Student Loans program supports approved diploma-level and higher courses, so it is not a VET Student Loan option for this qualification. A provider payment plan is different.

Read the enrolment agreement and refund policy before paying. Check withdrawal deadlines, any cooling-off period, deductions and complaints steps. Save the version you accept, receipts and important correspondence.

A change of mind does not automatically create a refund right. Consumer guarantees may provide remedies when a service fails to meet them; the remedy depends on the problem. Raise issues with the provider first and keep records. ASQA can receive regulatory concerns but does not resolve individual student-provider disputes.
