Who this helps: students considering property-representative employment or later property-agent licensing in Tasmania.

Educational information, not individual licensing advice. No licence, job or income guarantee. Directory operator identity remains pending; no real provider is verified.

The Tasmanian sequence is different

For the usual new property-representative route, the Board exam comes before the licence application. The exam must have been passed within the previous two years. A knowledge-and-experience route may involve a different assessment; it is not an automatic substitute.

A property representative is an employee performing authorised sales or property-management work for a licensed real estate agent or property manager. A job title alone does not establish the licence held or permitted duties. Operating the business requires the relevant higher licence.

Do not assume that every new Tasmanian representative must finish the full Certificate IV before becoming licensed. The Board imposes staged CPP41419 study as a licence condition for representatives granted a licence on or after 1 August 2021.

The national qualification contains 18 units, five core and 13 electives. Ask the provider how its training satisfies both national packaging and the Board’s Tasmanian requirements.

Read the deadlines on your own licence

The Board policy allows at least three years in total for the staged qualification condition: a period for five core units, then a period for the remaining units. Your actual licence sets the dates. Training must be approved as addressing Tasmanian law. Interstate Certificate IV study may need additional Tasmanian learning.

At this guide’s check date, the Board says CPD portal submissions are paused during system changes. That notice is not permission to miss a licence condition. Keep your study evidence and check the current submission process.

Higher real estate-agent and property-manager licences use CPP51122 training. The real estate-agent pathway includes two years of full-time qualifying experience in the previous five years; equivalent part-time experience can count. Property-manager business applications require the Board to be satisfied about relevant knowledge and experience. CPP41419 alone is not enough for those higher licences.

Confirm the correct licence class, prior-learning route and fit-and-proper requirements with the Board before paying for a course. A course advertisement cannot decide your individual eligibility.

Plan documents, study and costs together

The individual application requires certified identity material, address and photo evidence, a police check within three months and an insolvency check within seven days. Tasmanian residents have specified Tasmania Police requirements. Time these documents around your application.

The Board exam fee is non-refundable, and late changes or non-attendance can forfeit the fee. Ask about reasonable adjustments before booking if needed. Check current exam and licence charges separately from tuition.

Check the RTO’s registration and scope, then its actual current offer. National scope does not by itself establish Board acceptance of local-law training or an available intake. No provider price or offer has been verified here.

Keep the offer, unit list and written support terms. Read payment, withdrawal and refund conditions before enrolling. Budget training, exam, licence and document-check charges separately.
