Check a real estate training provider before you pay

The national register is a useful first check. Your course agreement needs a separate look.

Verify the issuing RTO’s identity, registration and relevant training scope on training.gov.au. Then confirm the course’s unit list, state pathway and written terms before enrolling.

Begin with the organisation that issues the result

The national register has separate records for qualifications and registered training organisations. An RTO record includes registration details and scope information. This lets you check the provider behind the course, rather than relying only on a brand name in an advertisement. National register search and official record guide

Ask the course seller for the issuing RTO’s legal name and number. If the seller uses another business name or works with a partner, ask who will train you, assess you, receive payment and issue your certificate or statement of attainment.

These are ordinary buyer questions. You do not need to know the whole training system to ask them.

Check three different claims

Make three records agree

Compare the offer, the RTO record and the enrolment agreement. The organisation and course details should fit together. Check relevant scope dates and whether the listed training product matches what you intend to buy.

Open the CPP41419 qualification record as a second check. Its packaging rules describe the full qualification. A shorter registration course may include only selected units, so ask exactly what completion document you will receive. CPP41419 record

If something does not match, pause and ask for a written explanation. There may be an ordinary reason, such as a trading name, but it should be possible to explain clearly.

Registration is the first filter

A register entry does not tell you whether a particular timetable, teaching style or support service suits you. Nor does it replace your state regulator’s licensing rules.

Before paying, request a unit list and ask how it matches your intended state and role. Ask to see the student handbook, assessment approach, support arrangements, total fees and withdrawal terms. ASQA’s course-selection guidance is a useful prompt for that conversation. Choosing a course and provider

Keep a small evidence folder

Save the dated offer, register details, course outline and provider’s answers. Keep your signed agreement and receipts once you enrol. This gives you a clear record if the course changes or you need to ask a question later.

A careful check may take longer than a few minutes, especially where partners or licence pathways are involved. The goal is a clear answer, not a fast tick.

Next step: Use the Australia student guide to record each match and any unanswered question before you commit.

Sources and what remains unknown

No personal eligibility or provider quality is determined. Check your own records and the current official requirements.
